If you are looking for an innovative way to raise funds for a good cause, holding a face painting booth at a local carnival, schooling or scouting event, or vendor fair can be a great way to receive money without having to pay much to prepare. Here are a few tips you can use when setting up your face painting booth, maximizing the profits you will bring in for your fundraising cause.

Recruit Some Artists

If you know of people who enjoy drawing or painting, ask them if they would be willing to donate an hour or two of their time to help you in your fundraising efforts. Many artists will be happy to give time as they will be able to showcase some of their talent in the process. If they do artwork on the side, tell them to bring a few pieces to display so people stopping in the tent can appreciate their work. They can hand out business cards to people who have interest in their masterpieces as well.

Gather Supplies

It is best to hold your fundraising booth underneath an event tent. Rent one of these from a local rental service or company like Joliet Tent Co for the duration of your event. Your artists and customers will enjoy being out of the elements while having their faces painted. A tent will also help protect your face paint from becoming too runny due to overheating. The shade it provides will also be appreciated by artists so they can see their handiwork without glare from the sun.

Set up a table for each artist with a variety of face paint colors and different sized paint brushes. Place a few comfortable seats under the tent and provide mirrors for those getting work done to admire their new look. To make the tent area more festive, have music playing to help attract people passing by. Hang a sign from the top of your tent so it drapes down in view of those walking past, enticing potential customers to come inside.

Display Choices

Having a few people available to do face painting will keep artwork interesting as there will be a variety of looks to choose from. Have the artist do quick sketches of some ideas to display so people visiting the booth can have examples to choose from. Write prices of each example next to it so customers can make an informed decision on their selection easily. Make sure each display board has low-priced selections in addition to elaborate higher priced selections so those without a lot of money can still participate in helping your cause.
