If you are planning your wedding, you know that one of the most important details is choosing a venue. You've probably been to plenty of weddings in churches and at hotels or event centers. Maybe you are looking for something a little different for your wedding. Here are some unique wedding locations you can consider for your big day.

  1. Think Outdoors. An outdoor wedding can be beautiful and cost effective, depending on the location you choose. Think about the places that mean something to you and your fiancé. Perhaps you love hiking in the woods near your home, or like to picnic in a local meadow. These are places you can look at for a wedding. And if you still want to have the actual ceremony indoors, or in a church, these outdoor locations could be great for your reception, or even engagement party. One downside to outdoor weddings, however, is that you usually need some sort of backup plan in case of foul weather. A tent rental is a popular choice for many outdoor weddings.
  2. Look Locally. You may have a wonderful wedding venue, such as Buffalo Launch Club, near your home that you never considered. If you have farms near you, one or more probably has a barn you could use that is open to special events. A lot of brides like a more rustic and country feel for their wedding, and this is a great way to bring that theme to life. If you love wine, see if there are any vineyards near you that allow weddings at their location. Orchards, olive oil farms, and many other businesses can be surprising and beautiful places to host a wedding. Try to think outside the box and keep your eyes open for a unique location in your area.
  3. Think Indoors. If you are not an outdoorsy couple, but still don't want to have your wedding reception in a typical hotel ballroom, there are a lot of indoor options you can look at. See if there are any large historical homes in your area. Many of these make amazing wedding locations. If you love to go to a community theater or art galleries on the weekend, you should consider having your wedding at one of these spots. If you love the local animal sanctuary, see if they allow weddings there. By looking at your favorite places from a wedding perspective you may find the perfect venue for you.

Now that you have so many unique ideas, you are sure to be able to find the perfect creative venue for your wedding.
